Weirdo universe

NASA Discovers a “Stunning Surprise” as a Smashed Asteroid Develops Twin Tails
The universe is strange, there’s no denying it. You only need to peek outside to witness a wide variety of bizarre, self-replicating plants and animals crawling on a blue ball of semi-molten rock that is protected by a thin, hard shell and shrouded in a flimsy layer of gases. However, the strange occurrences that can be found hiding across the cosmos are much more numerous than our own planet, and every day astronomers discover new discoveries. We examine some of the most bizarre objects in space in the gallery below.
Mysterious Radio Signals

See Haunting Video of Mars and Jupiter Moons Engaging in a Cosmic Dance
Since 2007, scientists have been able to detect extremely powerful, extremely bright radio waves that barely last a few milliseconds. Fast radio bursts (FRBs), which are these mysterious flashes that seem to be coming from billions of light-years distant (they’re not aliens, it’s never aliens), have been given the name. The second repeated FRB signal ever discovered, which flashed six times in a succession, was recently observed by scientists and may help them solve this riddle.
Nuclear Pasta

Elon Musk Shares Dramatic Video of Falcon 9 Rocket’s Death Dive
The remains of a dead star give rise to the strongest substance in the universe. Simulations suggest that protons and neutrons in a star’s shrivelled shell can be subject to insane gravitational pressure, which would force them into linguini-like tangles of material that would snap — but only if you applied to them a force that was 10 billion times greater than that required to break steel.
Haumea Has Rings

Bubble Found Zipping Around Black Hole With ‘Mind Blowing Velocity
The dwarf planet Haumea is already out of the ordinary because it orbits in the Kuiper Belt beyond Neptune. It is the solar system’s fastest-spinning big object due to its odd elongated shape, two moons, and brief daytime. But in 2017, as Haumea passed in front of a star, astronomers detected incredibly thin rings around the object, which were probably the consequence of a collision in the distant past. This made Haumea even stranger.
A Moon with a Moon

UFO Spotted After Storm Before Vanishing into Space
What is superior to the moon? a moonmoon, as it is known online, is a moon orbiting another moon. Moonmoons, also called submoons, moonitos, grandmoons, moonettes, and moooons, are still hypothetical, but recent calculations indicate that their development is not inconceivable. Maybe one day astronomers will find one.
Dark-Matter-Less Galaxy?

Commercial Space Station Developers Want Clarification on Laws
It’s unusual that dark matter, which makes up 85% of all stuff in the cosmos, is an unidentified component. However, one thing is at least certain according to researchers: dark matter exists everywhere. Team members were perplexed by a strange galaxy they discovered in March 2018 that appeared to have little dark matter. Even while the discovery strangely gave support to a rival theory contending that dark matter doesn’t exist at all, subsequent research suggested that the celestial anomaly did, in fact, contain dark matter. Astronomers, get your act together!
The Most Bizarre Star

James Webb Telescope will Use Mock Lava Worlds to Better Study Exoplanets.
When Louisiana State University astronomer Tabetha Boyajian and her colleagues first noticed the star known as KIC 846285, they were perplexed. The object, affectionately known as Tabby’s star, would experience unusual dips in brightness, sometimes by as much as 22%, that would last for oddly spaced-out periods of time. There have been a number of theories put forth, including the potential of an alien megastructure, but today’s majority of academics think the star is being encircled by an unusual ring of dust that is the reason for the darkening.
Highly Electric Hyperion

James Webb Telescope Discovers Strange Rings Made of Biological Dust Pushed by Starlight.
Numerous astronomical bodies, such as Neptune’s geyser-emitting Triton and Jupiter’s excessively volcanic Io, could claim the title of oddest moon in the solar system. Saturn’s Hyperion, a pumice-stone-like irregular rock covered in countless craters, is among the oddest-looking objects. In addition, the NASA Cassini mission discovered that Hyperion was charged with a “particle beam” of static electricity that was emitted into space and visited the Saturn system between 2004 and 2017.
A Guiding Neutrino

James Webb of NASA Reveals a Fingerprint-Like Image Seen From Space
On its own, the high-energy neutrino that struck Earth on September 22, 2017, wasn’t all that remarkable. At least once per month, physicists at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica observe neutrinos with a similar energy level. However, this one was unique since it was the first to come with sufficient details about its origin to allow scientists to point telescopes in the direction it originated from. They discovered that it had been launched at Earth 4 billion years prior by a blazar, a supermassive black hole at the galaxy’s core that had been consuming nearby material.
The Living Fossil Galaxy

Images From the James Webb and Hubble Telescopes: Compare and Contrast
DGSAT I is an ultradiffuse galaxy (UDG), which means that although it is the size of the Milky Way, its stars are dispersed so thinly that it is essentially undetectable. But in contrast to other UDGs, which are normally found in clusters, the ghostly DGSAT 1 was sitting alone when it was first spotted by scientists in 2016. The faint object, known as DGSAT 1, is thought to have formed just one billion years after the Big Bang, according to its features, making it a living fossil.
Double Quasar Image

Potentially the Future of Space Building is a New Walking Robot.
Massive objects bend light in such a way that the image of what is behind them is distorted. The Hubble Space Telescope helped scientists find a quasar from the early universe, and they used that information to determine the universe’s expansion rate. They discovered that the universe is expanding more quickly now than it was then, which is contrary to prior findings. Physics experts must now determine whether their theories are incorrect or if another unexpected phenomenon is present.
Infrared Stream from Space

NASA Deals With a Mysterious Rover Rock Sampling Error on Mars
After an ordinary star dies, an object known as a neutron star is created. Neutron stars typically release radio waves or higher-energy radiation like X-rays, but in September 2018, scientists discovered an unprecedented lengthy stream of infrared light originating from a neutron star 800 light-years from Earth. The signal may have been produced by a disc of dust surrounding the neutron star, as suggested by the researchers, although the precise cause is yet unknown.
Rogue Planet with Auroras

Trailer for ‘Good Night Oppy’ Surviving Mars Rover Robots
Rogue planets that have been ejected from their parent star by gravitational forces are circling the cosmos. The planet-sized object SIMP J01365663+0933473, which is located 200 light-years distant and has a magnetic field that is more than 200 times stronger than Jupiter’s, stands out among the peculiarities in this class. With radio telescopes, this can be observed to produce flashing auroras in its atmosphere.
